This modern and slightly quirky city is home to some fascinating examples of contemporary architecture – three must-see sites are its church Hallgrimskirkja, a skyline sentinel whose profile draws from the landscape's basalt columns, Perlan with its shimmering glass dome and the waterside Harpa Concert Hall, inspired by nature. And of course, no trip to Iceland would be complete without a visit to the world famous Blue Lagoon which can be added to your itinerary either on the way into the city or on your return journey to the international airport.
